School Mission, Vision and Ethos

Our Ethos
 
At St Mary's Catholic Primary School, we try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in all things.  Our mission is as follows:

As Catholics, we follow the teachings of the Gospel and of all that is taught to us through the Church. Scripture reveals for us how God will guide us in the way He wants us to live.  In the Gospels and our Church tradition we encounter the person of Jesus Christ.

The Beatitudes (Matthew 5) encapsulate the values we want to live by and which we nurture and develop in the children in our care i.e. to be meek, merciful, peaceful, pure of heart and so on.  We hold dear the Gospel values found in the Beatitudes.

Faithfulness & Integrity, Dignity & Compassion, Humility & Gentleness, Truth & Justice, Forgiveness & Mercy, Purity & Holiness, Tolerance & Peace and Service & Sacrifice.

 

Vision

Catholic vision and Catholic principles drive the vision of the school, at St. Mary’s we aim:-

For every child to receive an outstanding education, so that they reach their full-human potential worthy of their God-given gifts.

For every child to leave St. Mary’s equipped with the skills they need for the next stage of their education and lives, knowing their contribution makes a difference in our world.
