School Council

St Mary’s School Council is a group of children who are elected by their peers to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their school and learning environment. The Council meet once a month to discuss issues children may have and how to solve them. The elected chair and secretary meet with the headteacher on a regular basis to feed back any ideas or concerns the children may have. The School Council also take an active role in organising events and initiatives throughout the year, such as charity fundraisers, themed days, and suggestions for improving school life. They help ensure that every child has a voice and that pupil ideas are valued and respected in shaping the future of St Mary’s.
